Dear Mr Sadeian, Re. Steampunk Meeting during WGW, as mentioned in your recent thread on 'UK Steampunk' (LJ)... Your good lady wife had previously mentioned in a missive to me somefink in passing about you organising a such a meeting during WGW... sounds intruiging. I was already planning to introduce my fellow two travellers to that charming Thru The Looking Glass & Down The Rabbit Hole Victoriadelica Teashop known as 'Sherlocks' at some point in our whistle-stop Whitby visit on Saturday. Therefore I would be interested in coming along to this Moot, if that would be agreeable to yourself. With reference to a remark in your last reply upon the aforementioned thread, one point springs to mind. From my own previous experience of frequenting this establishment, I did not need to have recourse to the Deductive Methods of the Estimable Mr Holmes to observe that due to the combination of : the Undoubted Excellence of this particular teashop; the prodigous number of persons eager to sample it's delights during the Festival period; and the relatively modest capacity of this particular establishment : it was oft not possible to stroll in off the street & procure a table forthwith. Indeed, altho there were only two of us (myself & my love) it was only due to a fortutious departure at the moment of our arrival, and a bit of cunning wrangling *ahem*, that we got our feet under a table at all. Furthermore, while we were there we saw several couples and families declined admitance or obliged to wait at considerable length due to scarcity of tabelage. The staff advised us that for future reference it would be advisable to avail ourselves of some telephonic device & to book in advance. Bearing these divers particulars in mind, and considering that your meeting will presumably involve a sundry number of persons, perhaps you may wish to consider that option? Finally: you are probably aware of this already, but just in case you are not, I thought I would mention it : in addition to the downstairs room at Sherlocks by the counter, there is a further, more private and (as far as I had chance to ascertain when I was last there) equally charmingly appointed tearoom upstairs... Yours Tick-Tockishly E. Mooncat Esq.

To Capt. Sadeain & the Other Chaps & Chapesses of the Sadeain Research Coalition, Greetings… Congratulations, Salutations, Commendations & any number of other favourable phraselogical constructions ending in the appendage "…ations"; upon your website. It appears to me that the aesthetic, philosophical, creative & rumpingtidious fundamentals of Steampunk are evolving in Weird & Wonderful new ways herein. As of the present moment in chronological measurement, I have read but the first couple of chapters of your tale, but forsooth it stirs half forgotten memories in the cobweb haunted vaults of my synapses, echoes of the dreadful events of 1865… and the curious & confusing duality of my loyalties upon this matter. Pray allow me to elucidate a little upon this latter matter; I will attempt to keep my account brief… As you may read on several of my internet profiles - inparticular that on VampireFreaks.com - I was born as a six year old kitten into a family of mushrooms who lived in a Transylvanian Castle on the Moon back in the year 1793. Which means that I'm… well work it out for yourselves darlinks *heh-heh*. Suffice to say that I'm actually somewhat older than I look… Anyway & However, considering the circumstances of my arrival upon this planet, I hope that you will not think of me as an 'Enemy In Your Midst' for I have a certain fealty to the Earth & it's inhabitants, as I am part human. As you may read in previously stated remarks in other of my net profiles (particularly that on deviantart) I am half man, half woman, half mixed up cat from Outer Space. I'm also incredibly c*** at Mathematics. ;-) My Mother was an Earthling, my Father a Cat-Moonling. At this point (if you've been paying attention) you may be asking yourself "so YTF was this creature born into a family of mushrooms?" I often ask myself the same question, if you have any insights into the matter you're observations will be gratefully received. Personally I suspect it is yet one more piece of evidence to support my theory that the notion that the Universe Makes Sense (i.e. it follows some sort of linear, logical law; whether Spiritual, Scientific or Philosophical) is Poppycock, Balderdash and (if you will excuse my French) Utter Piffle. The Circumstances of my arrival on this planet in 1799, and my tragic misadventures since, are too lengthy to bore you with here, but suffice to say that I empathize & offer my support to your cause, and am suitably impressed with the Bold & Brave manner in which you present the facts of the case to a world which (as I'm sure you know perfectly well) is unlikely to grasp the essence of such matters. In my humble opinion those who present the Truth, regardless of the consequences, are Prophets Without Honour, the Unsung Heroes of our Times…. *Much Doffery of zeh Hat* E. Mooncat Esq.
